Top Four Beaches in the Mediterranean

When it comes to beach vacations, the Mediterranean offers some of the most beautiful destinations in the world. With crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and stunning scenery, it’s no wonder that millions of tourists flock to the region every year. So if you are gearing up for a European adventure for your next vacation and want a taste of that sweet beach life, here are the four exceptional stretches of sand that can’t be missed.

Cala Coticcio Beach, Sardinia

Sardinia, an Italian island in the Mediterranean, is home to some of the most idyllic beaches in the world. One of the most beautiful is Cala Coticcio Beach, located on the island’s northern coast. The beach is tucked away in a secluded cove and can only be reached by boat or by hiking through the forest, making it a genuine hidden gem. The water is clear and blue and the sand is white and soft, making it the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore the rocky coves that surround the beach or take a dip in the refreshing water.

Platja de Ses Illetes, Formentera

Formentera is a small island located in the Balearic Islands, off the coast of Spain. It’s known for its unspoiled beaches, crystal-clear waters, and laid-back vibe. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island is Platja de Ses Illetes. The beach is bordered by dunes and pine trees and has some of the whitest sand you’ll ever see. The Spanish government charges a small entry fee which means that despite its beauty it is a little less crowded than you might imagine – a real paradise in the Mediterranean.

Navagio Beach, Zakynthos

Zakynthos, a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, is a little slice of heaven with some of the best beaches in the world. Head and shoulders above all of them is Navagio Beach, also known as Shipwreck Beach. The beach is located on the north coast of the island and is only accessible by boat. The beach is famous for its crystal-clear waters, white sand, and the wreck of a smuggler’s ship that washed up on the shore in 1980. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore the smuggler’s shipwreck, which remains stranded on the sand.

Chiaia de Luna, Ponza

Ponza is a small island located off the coast of Italy, and it’s one of the best-kept secrets in the Mediterranean. Chiaia de Luna is located on the island’s western coast and its crystal-clear waters and soft, white sand are surrounded by towering cliffs, making it a little haven of peace and tranquility, with a delightfully ‘secret’ vibe.

The Mediterranean is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and these four are the best of the best. Whether you’re looking for a secluded cove or a bustling beach, there’s something for everyone in the Mediterranean. So, pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and get ready to experience the natural beauty of Europe’s top beaches.
